Are you able to win the Beginner Now? I think it would now be very tough to win the Games at GetClub even with the Beginner Level. Tell me how it is playing now, Do you find any improvement in its game. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html |

Tell me how it is playing now, Do you find any improvement in its game. Sanny, I have found that the GetClub program is getting tougher and tougher to beat. But it still is so weak in the pawn endings that I can, if need be, steer toward theoretically drawn endings with a strong expectation of easy victory. Of course, I don't do that because it is a bad habit to get into, and habits die hard. In one recent game I was a pawn down in a Queen and two Rooks ending, where my King was rather exposed to attack. I traded the Rooks off and entered a dead-drawn Queen ending, and the program -- because it was a doubled-pawn ahead -- refused to draw via perpetual check (say, threefold repetition of position). As always, the GC program kept its King near a corner, and ultimately this led to its demise. However, in the middle game I feel that I am no longer "in control" of matters; the program is becoming more and more dangerous, harder for me to handle. But it is no match for a commercial chess program like Fritz or Rybka-- not in any phase of the game. -- help bot |
