Default How to do analyse a position in chess

How do I analyse a position in chess? I cannot find enough detail in
Eugene Znosko-Borovsky's How Not to Play Chess on how to do it. There
seems many ways of doing this. Can someone actually document
everything they think and note about in one position and explain it?

Try looking at the books: "Think like a grandmaster" and "Play like a
grandmaster" by Kotov. Also Keres (and Kotov?) have a good book called
"The Middlegame in Chess."

Who are you and what have you done to Taylor Kingston?!?

The book by Keres and Kotov is called `The Art of the Middlegame';
`The Middlegame in Chess' is by Reuben Fine.

He hasn't done anything, Dave. I'm still here, for what it's worth.

I second the above recommendations, and would add "Understanding
Chess Move by Move" by GM John Nunn" http://uscfsales.com/item.asp?PID=632

Gaaaah. Misread the attribution. Any chance you can put a "Taylor
Kingston" in your From line?

Nope, had no effect. Well, if in doubt, click on "profile." I've
added my name and a photo there.

I don't use Google Groups but thanks for giving it a shot, anyway.
