Good one! Haven't been able to find out. I would say it's a safe bet
that it was _not_ Adolf Hitler, George Patton, Kaiser Wilhelm,
Napoleon, Henry V, Edward I, Richard I, Julius Caesar, Alexander the
Great, etc. Nor does it seem likely to have been any famous chess
player, which makes me wonder: why post this question here?

All Sanny has said is that Donizetti put these words in a song or
poem. That does not mean they were _his own_ last words. I've checked
various articles on Donizetti, and none said anything about his last
words.

Well, many women are sexually unsatisfied. I did my bit to help back
