Whose last words were "Will peace never come?" Good one! Haven't been able to find out. I would say it's a safe bet that it was _not_ Adolf Hitler, George Patton, Kaiser Wilhelm, Napoleon, Henry V, Edward I, Richard I, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, etc. Nor does it seem likely to have been any famous chess player, which makes me wonder: why post this question here? |

Thank you for all your answers.... I think the answer is indeed
Donizetti. HOWEVER the answer given by Dennis Norden, in a casual answer on BBC's Radio 4 was: Mrs Peace. and that is a very funny answer. At least I think it is. |

All Sanny has said is that Donizetti put these words in a song or poem. That does not mean they were _his own_ last words. I've checked various articles on Donizetti, and none said anything about his last words. HOWEVER the answer given by Dennis Norden, in a casual answer on BBC's Radio 4 was: Mrs Peace. and that is a very funny answer. At least I think it is. Well, many women are sexually unsatisfied. I did my bit to help back when I was a young, single man, but after marriage I aimed at quality rather than quantity. |
