Default Methods of Producing Japanese Shogi Equipment

Kiseido in Japan has come out with a new line of high quality shogi
equipment.

Here is an article on how it is made and how to tell the difference
between the high quality boards and the cheap stuff:

http://www.kiseido.com/shogi/shogi_equipment.htm

Never fear: For only $4,200 now you can buy an inexpensive but
serviceable shogi set.

Please take a look.

Despite what follows, the site was interesting and informative.

LOL!

Our forestry industry in Canada ought to be able to produce reasonably
decent Go tables from some variety of tree around here for much less
than it can be done in Japan. As for Shogi, it is taken less seriously
in Japan, so I suspect sales of high-quality equipment are limited.

Of course, Kiseido produces some fine books on Go, such Invincible.
