Bobby Fischer's Conquest of the World's Chess Championship: The
Psychology and Tactics of the Title Match
by Reuben Fine, Ph.D.

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...ean=0923891471

Bobby Fischer was the greatest chess player the world has ever known.
The question is: Was he greatest chess player because he was crazy, or
rather in spite of it?

This book contains a psychoanalysis of Bobby Fischer by one of the
world's leading authorities on psychoanalysis, who was also one of the
world's strongest grandmasters of chess.

This book is really three books in one: An analysis of the games of
the Fischer-Spassky match (straight chess analysis, with no
psychology), a psychoanalytic study of the two players in the match,
and a correction of the historical record from 1938 to 1948, during
which time Fine himself had a claim on being called the World Chess
Champion.

There have been dozens of books written on the epic 1972 match in
Reykjavik, Iceland between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky for the
World Chess Championship, but none go to the depths of the psychology
behind the moves of the match as does this book.

ISBN 0-923891-47-1

This book appears at Barnes and Noble through an agreement reached two
weeks ago by which most Ishi Press books will be available at all
Barnes and Noble stores and other stores worldwide.
