Teddy Coleman, 13, Great Sensation of the World Open
The great sensation of the 2003 World Open, concluded yesterday, was Teddy Coleman, aged 13. Teddy scored 5 points in his first seven games against opponents averaging 2300, for a grandmaster level preformance. However, he played a grandmaster in round 8 and lost. In Round nine he lost to an International Master. So, Teddy would up with a score of 5-4, which was a performance of about 2400, not bad for a 13-year-old kid. Teddy Coleman entered the World Open with a rating of 2154. Sam Sloan |
