I like it. Though I've only been a free member for about 8 months or so.
A couple times I just about joined as a paying member but then they would
have a server outage that would last a few days or even a week or more. So
for now, I'm staying only as a free member.

Overall though, a very good site. Very, very convenient for playing a game
though I currently am playing most of my games at the IECC. The IECC can be

The only major outage was caused when the webmaster had to change hosting
service when the previous host wanted to charge an exorbitant new rate.
Chessworld.net has one of the cheapest subscription rates around and the
webmaster wanted to keep it that way. I've tried out most of the turn-based
servers, but ChessWorld is the only one I subscribe to.

I cant say enough good things about this site, There are plenty of
like minded chess enthusiasts from every corner of the globe, knockout
tourneys , 4 player all play all up to 30 player all play all !! jeeze
...........

I used to use chessbase but found that nobody ever used to even bother
to say hello, goodbye or ............anything, which i hated.

This site is much more social and my game has improved leaps and
bounds,
the best ten quid i ever spent, except the , no, its the best tenner
ever spent.

log on and challenge jonnywildboar.

I also easily found some guys willing to give me a bit of coaching.

Frequent server outages is only one of many problems and bugs on that site.
Even the drop down menus stick and get in the way of the interface. The
rating calcuation formula doesn't work much of the time. The webmoron that
"runs" things likes to boast about having lots of players on the site but in
reallity they are just empty handles that never play any games. Check out
how many of the "registered handles" have 0 games played. Save your money
and go to a legitimate site such as Red Hot Pawn, Game Knot, Its your turn,
etc
