At the moment I'm going through LCMBM using CB Light. I feel like I'm
playing better and I understand more but I have a question: it's very simple to include variations in the middle of a game but what about at the end of a game? For example in Game 22 Marco-Pillsbury Black plays 21 ... fxg6 and then Resigns. Now if I try and include a variation to show myself why Black resigned (it was #7), CB Light 'thinks' it's a continuation of the game and displays it as thought the game was played out. Is there any way of showing 21 ... fxg6 variations here 1-0 You can use Text After Move but is there a better way? cheers dd |

I don't know if it works with CBLight, as I haven't got it installed, but in CB the procedure is: right click on the move and choose "insert variation" Now CB will take back a move. Play the new variation and it should pop up as a separate variation. -- CeeBee Uxbridge: "By God, sir, I've lost my leg!" Wellington: "By God, sir, so you have!" Thanks but...although the right click does Enter Variation I can't get it *after the game has finished* I've got 21 Bxg6 fxg6 1-0 R click only lets me do 21 Bxg6 variation here fxg6 1-0 instead of 21 Bxg6 fxg6 variation here 1-0 or here afaics it won't let me enter an 'explanatory variation' as to why Black resigned at this point cheers dd |

You should right click on fxg6, _not_ on 21.Bxg6, thus inserting a variation for the move fxg6. Here's a mock game. I entered it in CB, saved it as a draw after 22.f3 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d5 3.exd5 Bd6 4.Nc3 Nf6 5.d3 h6 6.g3 0-0 7.Bg2 Nbd7 8.0-0 Nb6 9.Nh4 Re8 10.Re1 Bg4 11.Bf3 Qd7 12.Bxg4 Qxg4 13.Qxg4 Nxg4 14.Nf5 Bf8 15.d6 Bxd6 16.Ne4 Re6 17.a3 Nf6 18.h3 Rd8 19.b3 Nbd7 20.Be3 Bf8 21.Nxf6+ Nxf6 22.f3 [ 22.c4? Rxd3] ½-½ After that, I reopened the game, right clicked on 22.f3, chose "insert variation" and CB jumped back to 21...Nxf6. Then I entered 22.c4 Rxd3 -- CeeBee Uxbridge: "By God, sir, I've lost my leg!" Wellington: "By God, sir, so you have!" Google CeeBee @ www.geocities.com/ceebee_2 |

I have the same problem with CB Lite - does this also happen with the full
version? It is annoying that you can't enter possible continuations as variations. "DDEckerslyke" wrote in message ... At the moment I'm going through LCMBM using CB Light. Does hitting "t" and re-entering the last move of the game work for this, I
wonder? (I'm now running CB8 in which this does work - clearly the last move of the game is at the start of the variation)... Mark |

It doesn't quite work perfectly (fxg6 is reproduced at the start of the variation) but so what? very good cheers dd |
