Lance Smith wrote (2003-08-30 17:51:44 PST):
I just wonder what [Tim Krabbe] has against Fischer? I wrote (2003-08-31 12:06:28 PST): Perhaps things like this have something to do with it. "... I'm hoping, as I say, for a Seven Days in May scenario, where sane people will take over the U. S. now. You know what I mean? Sane people, military people, yes. They will imprison the Jews. They will execute several hundred thousand of them at least ..." - (http://home.att.ne.jp/moon/fischer/) .... Lance Smith now writes (2003-09-06 06:57:56): Someone emailed me this: "Yeah, there are too many Jews in chess," Fischer told an interviewer in 1962. "They seem to have taken away the class of the game. They don't seem to dress so nicely. That's what I don't like." Is this the quote in the 60s that you're referring to?. If something else, please let us know. _ Again, I referred to reports of Fischer comments GOING ALL THE WAY BACK to the nineteen sixties. The email that Lance Smith is talking about may be the earliest report that I have seen about Fischer's attitude towards Jews, but it is certainly not the only one. As I have mentioned before, one could also look at the transcripts from the 1992 match. |

(Nick) wrote: (snipped) In this thread (30 August 2003), you ("Liam Too") wrote to Peter van der Hoog: "...Tim Krabbe is the one who is making up stories about Fischer, lots of inaccurate articles at their worst." That statement ("making up stories about Fischer") implies that you do believe that Tim Krabbe is knowingly defaming Bobby Fischer. If that's not what you really believe, then could you please make clear exactly what you do believe? Nick, Please do not assume anything that I wrote and I will write. 'Take care of the sense and the sounds will take care of themselves.' --Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland) Lance, Actually, I was *not* "assum(ing) anything". I just *asked* you: "Could you *please* make clear exactly what you do believe?" I was ready to accept your *clear* statement of your own beliefs. But your response to me did not make any such clear statement. What I mean with what I said is what I mean and not what you understood. Have you been reading Lewis Carroll lately? :-) 'A Mock Turtle is the thing Mock Turtle Soup is made from.' --Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland) My target audience understood what I wrote and that's all that matters. How can you be certain of that? What is your "target audience"? Would it include, for instance, Louis Blair and Robert Musicant? I can assure you that I am not the only reader here who thinks that my question to you about Tim Krabbe, which you just evaded, is a good one. And, I don't have to be careful in writing them just for you. Lance Evidently, my ability to read English prose surpasses your ability to write it. (Nick) wrote in message . com... I am ready to accept your claims about Bobby Fischer if you can show me enough evidence to support them. Thanks. Sorry Nick, what I already posted publicly is as far as I can go. There's a lot at stake here and I'm not prepared to compromise that. Dear Lance, Please understand that I was *not* pressuring you to reveal your confidential source(s). I can understand your decision and respect your obligation to protect his or her privacy. Thanks for writing. --Nick |

Let me clear up the semantics here. I said "in cohorts", meaning "in
it together", because of the same source, without even knowing each other. My gripe is that their source made up the story, that's all. Fischer doesn't like personal stories that is not even true, in addition the the "Pathetic Endgame" of Chun. Lance Bobby Ang was not the only one source of the story. About a year before Chun published his article somebody wrote in these groups that Fischer had a child from Filippina http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...ing.google.com He is currently living in Baguio City,Philippines (and traveling to Japan often). I don't know about his lady friend in Japan...but last I heard from friends and family in Baguio is that he has a son by a Filipina and is currently living with her and the baby (although he refuses to marry her).
