That's the reason why the story is not true. Fischer can't go there
every two months. He would have been abducted by now.

If you think so, you can contact Torre and ask him whether it is true.
He must know. But I don't see the reason why should Bobby Ang make up
such a story to compromise Fischer. Since when to have children is a
disgrace?

If it's true , then Sneider could not stay as Fischer's friend after
that.

Nevertheless he states he is.

The veracity of Chun's story is the problem. He's all mixed up with
his sources, therefore his story were also all mixed up. He wrote:

"As for the Bekins theft, it, too, is a fiction. He did maintain
a Bekins storage room in Pasadena for twelve years, and the
memorabilia inside it were confiscated, but not in some nefarious
plot."

Chun spoke with Sneider, got the info from him and made a conclusion.

Chun's statement above is an outright LIE. The reason why all
hell broke lose for Bobby was because of the Bekins theft and
Ellsworth the Jew and Ellsworth's Jewish friends. It's not like
about THE "Jewish Conspiracy" from the Russian history books,
but the "Jewish Conspirary" the Ellsworth way.

Do you have any other source confirming your words, except Fischer's page?

"Yeah, there are too many Jews in chess," Fischer told an interviewer
in 1962. "They seem to have taken away the class of the game.
They don't seem to dress so nicely. That's what I don't like."

Is this the quote in the 60s that you're referring to?
If something else, please let us know.
Lance

I do *not* condone any reported racist or anti-Semitic statements by Bobby
Fischer, though I am ready to accept that Fischer's responsibility for them
might be mitigated on account of his evident psychological illness(es).

My impression is that Fischer's statement (cited above) reflected an
unfortunately not too unusual stereotype in the United States in 1962.
Fischer's anti-Jewish comment(s) would not necessarily have implied, however,
that he would have been unable to have tolerable personal or professional
relationships with Jewish people at that time. (For example, Richard Nixon
was known to have made anti-Jewish comments in private, yet he was able to
work closely together with Henry Kissinger.) Unfortunately, Fischer's evident
obsession about his problems with 'the Jews' seems to have worsened since 1962.

'There is perhaps no great social question so imperfectly understood among us
as that which refers to the line which divides sanity from insanity.'
--Anthony Trollope (He Knew He Was Right)

--Nick

But Nick, people say what Fischer said in 1962 to other people
regardless of race, gender, religion, etc. etc.

"They don't seem to dress so nicely."

You can hear this statement from anybody to anyone even today and it's
no big deal.

The statements after the Ellsworth incident are different. but with
reasons.

Lance
