Default Who testified for Sherzer's behalf???

In this article it says that several players from the chess community
including JUDIT POLGAR!!!! testified for Alex Sherzer. Who else was
there? I guess Larry Parr probably was not there.

I wonder if anyone asked Judit why Alex didn't stop the correspondance once the
emails became sexual? I wonder if she knows why? I wonder if the chess
community can explain why he didn't stop the correspondance and simply not make
the trip? It would SEEM that the chess community is sympathetic to Alex, but if
he is so innocent in all of this, then he WOULD have stopped the correspondance
IMMEDIATELY when the correspondance turned sexual. It's that simple.

A number of people from all over the world came to testify on behalf
of Dr. Sherzer. The judge has limited the number of witnesses.
Therefore, Judit was one of the very few that actually took the stand.
Others stayed for moral support.

Best Regards,
Paul

I wonder, what part of entrapment don't you understand? The e-mails did not
become sexual until after a trained investigator [ trained in the art of
encouraging behavior that probably would not have occured without such
encouragement ] took over for "Jane Doe". If the investigator had not become
so directly involved, but had rather just observed the continuing exchange
of e-mails between "Jane Doe" and Alex Sherzer, and then had arrested him,
if a sexual encounter was about to take place, I would not see a problem.
Just because a person can be tempted, coaxed, and encouraged to do something
illegal, doesn't mean that law enforcement should use that tactic. Did Alex
make an error in judgement? You're damn right he did. Haven't we all?

Well, no, not of nearly that magnitude (and yes, I have had
similar opportunities).

how much sense does it really make to have lots of young attractive
women take the stand as character witnesses?

And just how many folks are swayed by it?

The question of entrapment aside for a moment, Kenneth, what is your
source for such a definitive, sweeping statement? Have you access to
the full transcripts, perhaps? There is every indication, from what
little bits of the e-mails the newspapers have reported, that the
e-mails had become sexual well before the Agent was in place.

Don't you think it would be helpful for Larry to explain that
Sherzer's conduct was acceptable when measured against the conduct of
Thai soldiers on leave?
