You will find chess shops by just walking around the main shopping areas.
There are quite a lot of them doing mostly Boards and Pieces. I didn't see any books so if that is what you are looking for you may be disappointed. One shop I found is near the Karlov Bridge. The directions are walk across the bridge from the Castle, straight across the road and the first alleyway on the right has one hidden at the end. I didn't buy anything here. Where I bought stuff was: Christo D Klisurov Celetna 12 Praha 1 Tel 060 28 99 81 This one was doing better prices at the time, but it pays to shop around;-) -- Harry Before replying please remove 'noneofit' from my email address which I have inserted to stop junk mail. |

Before the round building of Komercni (Commercial) Bank you will find on your left a good chess shop. Unfortunately I don`t remember the number so you have to look carefully at the window exhibitions. Regards, Jerzy |

If you just look for a splendid crystal chess set from the famous bohemian glass then go to Vaclavske Namesti (Vaclav Square) and you will find there many shops with such magnificent sets. Regards, Jerzy Try sending an e-mail message to www.chessbookshop.com I'm not sure if they're located in Prague, but the proprietor, Karel Mokry, is a Czech GM who runs a chess book-selling business. He is located at: Brnenska 38 CZ-796 01 Prostejov Czech Republic, Europe |

However GM Mokry has a good shop too ;-) Regards, Jerzy |

Thank you for the suggestions. It's good to know there are fine
alternatives within walking distance in the centre. Regards, Tapio |
