1) Back in '72 I thought it would have been clever of Fischer to have
played 1. d4 versus Spassky. Actually I think in one game he did reach a Q-side type position by transposition and won nicely. 2) There have been many rumors that you've played Fischer at least one or two speed games.. and beat him. Is that true? RSHaas Dear RSHaas, That is not a rumor. It is widely known. Bobby used to stay at our summer home. We did play quite a number of games but not chess. We played Fischer Random. I don't think he would want me to let the world know the actual score. All I can say is I am very proud of my score and I am quite confident that Bobby changed his mind about Women's Chess after that. He did not play either of my sisters. Bobby is a charming person if he did not talk about those few topics we all know about. For most part, we stayed away from those topics. I have great respect for Bobby's chess skills and I wish him the best with his life as well as being a Dad. He was very nice to me and my family. Best wishes, GM Susan Polgar www.SusanPolgar.com www.USScholasticChess.org |

All I can say is I am very proud of my score and I am quite confident that Bobby changed his mind about Women's Chess after that. Then you must have beaten him or at least played even, which is quite possible taken into account your and his age and the nature of the games: Blitz games. By the way, did you use the Fischer-clock? In one of the radio-interviews Fischer says he wants his clock back! He did not play either of my sisters. Bobby is a charming person if he did not talk about those few topics we all know about. For most part, we stayed away from those topics. That's very hard to understand. Hans Ree in New in Chess: ". this touched on a strange riddle: how does he reconcile his rabid anti-Semitism with his personal relations with the Jews?" Didn't Fischer consider you as Jewish? I have great respect for Bobby's chess skills and I wish him the best with his life as well as being a Dad. He was very nice to me and my family. In a Dutch documentary on Fischer, Sofia is much more negative. She wishes she never had met Bobby Fischer. You two really differ that much in opinion? Best regards, Peter van der Hoog |

Look at all the books and movies using his name. I have first hand knowledge but I don't think it is ethical to use my friendship with him to gain financially without his consent. Dear Mrs. Susan Polgar,
I kow you since you played i the Dortmund GM tournament, where I also talked to your very friendly mother, please give her driendly greetings from Germany. I have a question for you, not connected to the topic of this thread. It's about the recent Dr. Sherzer case. I read that he was often as a friend at home with you in Budapest. So you and or your sister participated to the court trial. My exact question is: How could you give any character testimonial for your GM collegue, who had admittedly chatted with a 15 y. old underaged teenager, also using X-RATED vocabulary and who then confessed that he was under way to visit the girl with the intention of sexual contacts ad with a suitcase in his hands who contained sexual toys, condoms and alcohol? How could you know something about his strange misbehaviour? I kow well that he was entrapped, but he admitted that he had done something very wrong. So - basically he was acquitted, not because he was innocent but because of technical defects in a court trial. Could you clarify your standpoint towards this IMO very confused medical doctor? All the best to your furure in the US women chess team, sincerely, Rolf Tueschen |

Dear Mr. Tueschen & Jerry,
Let me just tell you my quick thoughts. I know Alex for a long time. He has made his share of mistakes and he was wrong here. I assure you that I told him my feelings of what took place. However, knowing a lot more than most people in this case, it is simply wrong to create something that was not there in the first place. Please do not always believe what you read in the newspapers. This costs him money, time, reputation, etc. Alex has paid for his bad decision dearly and he will pay for many years to come. om... Dear Susan, Would you really still want to play chess against Fischer, despite all the things he said in the radio-interviews? I wonder who is more remarkable, you or Fischer! "If I ever decide to do any project relating to Bobby, I would want his consent". Either you have a very special contact with Fischer or this is very naiv. Only a few persons, who spoke publicly about their friendship with Fischer still have contact with him. I can only think of Benko and Leko. Perhaps he has a special contact with Hungarians. Do you think Fischer knew his father came from Hungary? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have great respect for Bobby's chess skills and I wish him the best with his life as well as being a Dad. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you think, should Fischer teach Jinky Ong chess? In my opinion he'd better teaches his daughter Go. Then she really has a change to become world champion. Within the first 300 on the international Go-rating list you already find 15 women. The highest ranked woman (after Judit) on the chess-rating list is Stefanova Antoaneta on 601. Isn't that worrying? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- He was very nice to me and my family. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Those three lovely girls softened his heart :-) Best regards, Peter van der Hoog |

Dear GM Polgar,
Heil Dubya! I notice that you frequently respond to questions put directly to you, even when the questioner is an obvious troll. GM Sherzer has suffered enough as a result of his persecution by this sick society. Jerome, something is corrupt in your message. You talk about gens una sumus and fraternally, but somehow your message is full of venom. You have a strong negative opinion against your President Bush. But why identifying him directly with Hitler? You must be very confused if you compare Sept 11 with the so called 'Reichsprogromnacht' [official term] against the Jews in Nazi-Germany. The same here with my question to the GM, Mrs. Polgar. Who is sick? This US society? And not GM Sherzer, who has chatted with an alleged 15 y. old girl with X-RATED pornographical speech? And who tried to meet her with a suitcase full of sex toys and alcohol? He who wanted to have sex with an underaged girl? I have a direct interest to hear Mrs. Polgar's opinion and don't call it troll. Because Dr. Sherzer was just acquitted because of technical defects. That doesn't mean his innocence! If you think that society is sick, it's your good right to believe such nonsense, but you can't expect that people take you for serious. And now get out of the debate where _adults_ are talking, please. Thank you. Rolf Tueschen I ask, therefore, that, in this case, you forego your usual openess and simply not respond to the obvious troll of Herr Tueschen. It is beneath contempt. Dear Mrs. Polgar,
I am very pleased by your thoughtful reply. Indeed this is just what I've expected from you while I've feared that you might be in a double bind and wouldn't tell anything at all. For me this is closednow with your answer. Let me just confirm you that it's very true that I do only know the few newspaper reports. Anyway, I do sincerely hope that Dr. Sherzer will get over it with professional help and his private friends. Again all the best to you and I'm looking forward to a good performance of your US chess team, Rolf Tueschen |
