Joe IIRC, Bobby played the poisoned pawn Sicilian against Spassky in their 1972 WC match and Spassky beat him. Actually he payed it twice in that match and Spassky beat him only one of those times. |

No, FRC is a development by Fischer after he stopped playing chess. You didn't specify when Fischer should have developed a new opening, neither in the _early stages_ of his chess life, nor any other time or place. Sorry. Things are that I know what Fischer Random is, and I'm pretty sure it's not about it. It's my fault not telling that from the start... []s -- Cesar A. K. Grossmann ICQ UIN: 35659423 |

"Cesar A. K. Grossmann" wrote in message ... Hi! A friend of mine told me Bobby Fischer created a chess opening of his own, and only him could gave it a sound answer. Is that true? What opening is that? Can someone point me some online history about it? P.S.:Sorry the "all yor base are belong to us" engrish. Thanks -- Cesar A. K. Grossmann Maybe it could be the so-called games that Fischer played on ICC (I think they were against Short), playing moves like 1. f3, followed by moving his king up. But that was within the last year or so. Couldn't imagine anybody else in the world classifying those moves as 'sound' Dal It was speculated or conjectured that Fischer played those games. It was speculated or conjectured that Fischer played those games. David Ames You are correct in saying it was speculated or conjured that it was him. I am a HUGE Fischer fan, and as much as I would of loved to believe that it was him, it seems very unlikely that it was. To those who are anaware of what we are talking able, the following link from Chessbase (http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=11) will explain, with the so-called Bobby Fischer games in it's Game viewer. I recall a follow-up article where the whole thing was revealed as a prank, with the prankster (from Canada?) using parallel computers and having pretty good historical knowledge of the game. I don't remember more than that though, unfortunately. Matt |
