Default Dan Heisman's "An Improvement Plan" Question

Hello. I was wondering if I could solicit some opinion's on "The
Complete Idiot's Guide to Chess." I've decided to follow Dan Heisman's
"Improvement Plan" at chesscafe.com. Should I read the "Idiot's" book,
or should I move directly to step 2. Three years ago I read
Capablanca's "Primer of Chess" and Ewue's "Logical approach to chess."
I haven't done any studying or much playing since then. Thank you for
your time.

Following is my ICC Ratings (All of the Standard games were against
computers)

rating [need] win loss draw total best
Bullet 882 [7] 0 1 0 1
Blitz 994 25 74 1 100 1030 (15-Oct-2003)
Standard 1505 4 3 0 7

Default Dan Heisman's "An Improvement Plan" Question

JazzandJoyce,

If you are an adult who already knows how to play chess decently, you can skip Wolff's book. However, after
the initial chapters on the rules and how to play, it does provide a firm foundation with good guidelines,
etc. so it can be helpful later on. Of course, if you have read all of my Novice Nooks (I know you have read
at least one!) you probably know many of these guidelines already, or can go to:

....for a set of guidelines.

Best wishes,
NM Dan Heisman
