Default Active and Defensive Piece Values

Assuming P=1,B=N=3,R=K=4.5,Q=9 as a "general" value
(which differ from teacher to teacher - I inserted
an approximate power for the king but trying to
exchange him isn't recommended :-)
- how would you rate the pieces in attack and defense?
E.g. a Q tied to defense wins no beauty contest.

Values in chess, generally tend to undermine the idea of tactics and
sometimes strategy, and possibly even planning for a game I feel.
Rating chess pieces is irrelevent I feel, and is no substitute for a
sound, economical plan.
