Hi I am looking for any and all Online email chess programs, open source or
otherwise (if the developer will create a demo) what I am trying to do is showcase these programs so that anyone deciding he or she wants to setup one of these programs, they get the chance to view the program in action first, and find out what choices are available. If you are aware of any programs I have not showcased or if you are a developer and you will make a demo to showcase please let me know. http://trillianchess.homelinux.com Thank you |

You might be right, but to be honest I am not sure what the correct
terminology might be for these programs. Ok, lets try this, I am looking for programs that allow webmasters to setup on their site the ability to allow users the chance to play chess with other user around the world. The method the program would use would be (turn based) and all moves would be sent to each player through e-mail. I am looking for open source code that would allow me to setup and demo the program however, if a developer (not open source) would like his or her program showcased on my site and will create a demo version this can be arranged. http://trillianchess.homelinux.com Thanks. I'm a bit confused by the terminology here. Even though sending and receiving email is an "online" activity, unless I'm even more confused than I think I am, you're not talking here of "email" chess per se, but of some sort of "web site interface" chess instead. If one has to log in to a web site in order to play, is this not something completely different than "email chess"? When I think of "email chess" (the electronic equivalent of snail mail "correspondence chess"), I think of using a program like "ECTool", or even just sending moves in algebraic notation in email messages. "Chess servers" and "web site chess" interfaces seem quite different to me than "email chess"...even if there can be an element of email notification involved with a web site or chess server. Am I just completely confused about terminology here? Or is there some more accurate way of describing these different ways to play chess "online"? - -- Melissa My PGP public key: mailto
