Is there anything other than Fixation? I find the interface ugly, and
many of the pieces look alike, unless the board is tiny. Any alternatives? Kirk |

At least it connects you to ICC. http://www.orcsoftware.com/~jocke/chessic/ http://www.stratlabs.com/ is maybe another. The author of Sigma Chess is pondering to implement it in the next version, I believe. Maybe even in the free light version. -- CeeBee "I am not a crook" |

There's always javaboard http://www.freechess.org/javaboard/. If you're using MacOS X, you should be able to get xboard or one of the other Unix/ Linux programs to work. I use Sigma Chess and it's a great program, and it's a very nice interface. Kirk |

For OS X there is also "jin chess client" (I never tested it because I use
OS 9 at home), but it has an OS X version to download. http://www.jinchess.com/ From: (Kirk McElhearn) Organization: Wanadoo, l'internet avec France Telecom Newsgroups: rec.games.chess.misc Date: Sun, 11 Jan 2004 16:32:01 +0100 Subject: Macintosh ICC/FICS client? Yes - for OS X there is Chessic:
http://www.orcsoftware.com/~jocke/chessic/ I've used it and it works. I've been using Virtual PC with the ICC application, but not what I understand the interface/IRC a little better I will try go back to checking out Chessic. Its free, and works with 10.2 and up (don't know about 10.3). Jim On Sun, 11 Jan 2004 11:32:01 -0400, Kirk McElhearn wrote (in message ): Is there anything other than Fixation?
