Lately I have read an internet site www.moskva.ru with its great city guide.
And I have learned that the word "Kremlin" probably comes from the word "Kremnik" a derivative from either the ancient Greek word "kremnos" which means "hard/strong" or from the Slavonic word "krem" which means simply "forest". So my question to the linguistic experts is : is it possible that the name Kramnik has sth in common with Kremlin ? ;-) Regards, Jerzy |
