Default Kasparov-Topalov WaZ 1999

Does anyone else think that this famous game is overrated?
I think it has two really good moves in it - 24.Rxd4 and 37.Rd7 - but apart
from that it seems a little too one-sided to be a great game.
I prefer games where both sides have chances, like some of Kasparov's games
with Karpov.

Alan,
The analysis is extraordinarily complex, but the consensus of opinion seems
to be that move after move GK had only one not-easy-to-identify correct move
to maintain his advantage, and that move after move he found it. This could
well be the greatest game ever played.

Yes, I see what you mean. Kasparov found a long series of 'only' moves, and
that is impressive.
I just think I've seen much better games.

I may be a philistine, but there are some games that, when I play over them
I go slowly, and some I go quickly.

K v T WaZ 1999 is definitely a quick one.

Alan
