Default Match of two centuries

A recent article on Edward Winter's Chess Notes called 'Jews in Chess'
started me thinking about an all-time Gentiles v Jews match. Here are my
pairings. I think most of the matches would be fascinating!
Gentiles Jews
Bd 1 Alekhine Lasker
Bd 2 Capablanca Rubinstein
Bd 3 Smyslov Tal
Bd 4 Schlechter Fine
Bd 5 Karpov Chigorin
Bd 6 Pillsbury Kasparov
Bd 7 Morphy Steinitz
Bd 8 Spassky Bronstein
Bd 9 Staunton Paulsen
Bd10 Euwe Reshevsky
Bd11 Kramnik Botvinnik
Bd12 Keres Kortschnoi
Bd13 Timman Zukertort
Bd14 Andersen Petrosian
Bd15 Larsen Nimzowitsch

Default Match of two centuries

So, the Jewish reserves must be:

Winawer
Tarrasch
Spielmann
Tartakower
Janowsky
Fischer (remember him?)
The Polgar sisters
Gelfand
Smyslov (who is Jewish)
Spassky (who is Jewish)
Averbakh

There is also some doubt about Kramnik or Kramnick, which is of Jewish
origin.

You need to find a couple of gentile replacements.

He'd probably conspire against himself by playing 1.a3 or something.

: ) or move his king around, as in the Short v Fischer games, f2, Kf2, Ke3
etc, etc.

If the by jews you mean israelis you'd better run like hell if they start
losing because they'll bomb your ass off just to win the game.

Simon, one reason I stopped the list is that I was running out of
strong-enough gentiles; I would love to have put in those two quite
brilliant players Gulko and Kavalek - but I decided to stop at 15 boards.
As for Fischer - I suppose 'Fischer v Fischer' on board 2 would be the best
bet. He hasn't actually walked under Titus's Arch - but do you think he
would play on a Jewish team?

Are you sure about Spassky and Smyslov? I have Miles and Nunn in reserve!
Alan
