Two different opinions seem to vie here, regarding the root cause of Mickey
Adams' language peculiarities: illiteracy vs. drunkenness.

If I'm illiterate, gawd help the rest of youse, & if I'm drunk, then I
guess I'm drunk. Trolls btw, generally inhabit the high wilderness
regions, think 'bigfoot' - 'the abominable snowman' etc..

Well, if Mickey doesn't even know whether or not he is drunk -- what can I
say? :-)

Bigfoot and the abominable snowman are supposedly half-man,
half-giant-hairy-ape; but a troll is fully non-human, a species apart. This
difference becomes critical when a human attempts, say, to procreate: the
progeny of a human mating with a half-ape is one-quarter ape, three-quarters
human. While a human who attempts to mate with a troll, is simply eaten!

The Chess Police say lightenen up on Adams. We've all sinned and fallen short
of the Glory of God. This old Earth not being the Garden of Eden and all.
They said worse about James Joyce, believe me.

Some people aren't worth the plank for the walkin' timber be dear at sea. But I
think Mr. Adams despite the jokes about ones near and dear deserves a little
literary lee way. Up wind, he smells very little like a troll, down wind of him
I wouldn't want to be-- troll or not.

Even if he were a very clean troll, I think he does put in enough obligatory
chess content to be deemed worthy.

I think that what he actually meant some persons aren't actually worth giving
the time of day let alone anything more physical at sea, on land or in the
air.

It is terrible being seized by a James Joyce Deamon rather than a Capablanca or
a Lasker deamon. It's the curse of the Irish and Lord help me I'm, not even
Irish so I don't have an excuse.

If I were to be seized by a Chess Deamon, it would probably be a Morphy or a
Fischer one, so maybe I should thank my lucky star, and as for the James Joyce
deamon, I like Yeats better anyway even if the center will not hold.
