Default Statistics on USCF rated tournaments in 2003

I have made a proposal that the USCF rate the Olympiads. One purpose
of this is to bring very active top level players into the USCF rating
system and to encourage them to come here to compete.

My question is how much time and effort would be required to do this.

Assuming that 120 men's teams of 4 contest the Olympiad and each team
plays 14 rounds, that means that there will be 3360 men's games to be
rated.

Assuming that 50 women's teams of 3 contest the Olympiad and each team
plays 14 rounds, that makes 1050 women's games to be rated.

How difficult would it be in terms of time and effort to rate those
4410 games?

There are still events coming in for 2003, but here's a statistical
summary of the ones that have been rated through February 18th:

220 matches

1943 round robin events
1631 involving 4 or fewer players
262 involving 5-8 players
50 involving more than 8 players

13763 swiss sections
4887 involving fewer than 10 players
4239 involving 10-19 players
2153 involving 20-29 players
966 involving 30-39 players
530 involving 40-49 players
319 involving 50-59 players
170 involving 60-69 players
122 involving 70-79 players
71 involving 80-89 players
59 involving 90-99 players
77 involving 100-124 players
60 involving 125-149 players
48 involving 150-199 players
48 involving 200-299 players
13 involving 300-499 players
1 involving 500 or more players

Combining sections on the above (ie, ignoring RR's and matches),
there were 6867 events rated
1347 involving fewer than 10 players
2379 involving 11-24 players
1437 involving 25-49 players
765 involving 50-99 players
166 involving 100-124 players
103 involving 125-149 players
126 involving 150-199 players
104 involving 200-299 players
59 involving 300-499 players
37 involving 500 or more players

Here's the number of regular rated games by year since
1992:

Total Non-Scholastic

1992 | 324747 225722
1993 | 339388 234223
1994 | 377014 248344
1995 | 410365 257421
1996 | 425999 257655
1997 | 427946 249637
1998 | 425429 234672
1999 | 418709 206308
2000 | 420318 193787
2001 | 437456 182153
2002 | 485865 219596
2003 | 489206 236380

The 'scholastic tournament' flag isn't completely reliable (in part
because the current reporting format doesn't distinguish between
scholastic and non-scholastic events at the section level), but it
probably does give some indication as to the number of games in adult
sections, or at least the trend.

I should probably have restricted the earlier numbers to regular
events as well, otherwise they are by any dual-rated sections. (I
haven't found a good way yet to reliably determine if a section is
dual-rated.)

We'll be happy to do it for $882.
