How about playing with this chess notation ? http://angelink.be/?StenoChess ... and who will solve the 1.c3 challenge ? Regards, É. (crossposted to rec.games.chess.misc.) This is an interesting idea. A partial spoiler.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ce2Lx is a length-5 string which uniquely determines 1. c3: 1. c3 e6 2. Qc2 Bb4 3. cxb4 However, I haven't been able to find a length-4 solution. c5cx doesn't work because it describes 1. c4 b5 2. Qc2 bxc4 as well as 1. c3 b5 2. c4 bxc4. And c54x doesn't work either because of 1. Nc3 b5 2. Na4 bxa4. LT |
