Regards, Jerzy For me Moro is the most fascinating GM out there right now. He even stopped being a professional chess player 2(?) years ago and still achieves one of those remarkable tournament results which only a few players like Kasp are able to manage. He is really unique in his playing style and philosophy. I wish there would be more players like him and the chess association would give them more reasons to continue playing. Stefan |

Yes he gives the play necessary freshness and it`s a pleasure to watch such a fighting chess like in Amber-Melody unlike boring drawish chess inLinares ... Regards, Jerzy |

Moro stopped playing 2 years ago? Interesting information, maybe even Moro himself did not know that LOL http://www.fide.com/ratings/id.phtml...116992&moder=4 Andreas |

Moro(zevich) [not Moro(vic) who probably did quit] did think about quitting chess two years ago. After all he came back in a great style. And as he said in "64" he didn`t play chess for a year or so. ... if you'd just checked the link, you'd found that Moro (AFAIK the common short form / nickname of Morozevich, who the heck is Morovich) Haven`t you heard of GM Ivan Fernandez Moro(vic) ? http://www.fide.com/ratings/card.phtml?event=3405400 played all the time during the last years. There have - admitted - been periods of lesser activity, but no absense from professional chess. I know that he toyed with the thought of quitting professional chess some time ago (there has been an interview in 'NIC'-magazine too, some time ago where he spoke about that). That`s absolutely right : he considered quitting professional chess. Concerning your referrence of an interview in '64': If he did not play chess for a year, why does he have at least 2 rated games (usually more) in each and every quarter during the last years (check the link)? I can`t say right now what period he meant in "64" but I assume it was about 2 years ago that he claimed that he had stopped playing serious chess. I admit from the FIDE link you gave it`s not so obvious. Regards, Jerzy |
