Default Uhlmann question.

Did Wolfgang Uhlmann ever play anything else besides the french.
There has to be one game where he didn't reply 1...e6 to 1. e4.

Interesting question. I checked Mega 2000 and found, out of 1200 games
leading up to 1999, 450 games of which Uhlmann plays black and is faced
with 1 e4. Out of these 450, he plays 1...e6 in every one except for the
following 14 games.

It's interesting to note that although he doesn't have much variety here
either, none of them was a loss.

I don't know or care that much, incidentally you could try 'uhllulating'
to arrive at a satisfactory answer..

There is an accepted verb in English:
[v] Uhlmannization (Oool - man - I - zay - schyannn).
{verb [i] {20th Century}
(Chess) the manoeuvre bishop(c8) to d7 to e8 to f7, g6 or h5.

Hmmmm. I struck.........a nerve? What exactly is the problem with
this question asking if Uhlmann ever played anything other than the
french. Could it be that he was East German? Something galled you to
this question.

The best approach, I think, with Michael Adams's posts is to read them
as jokes not necessarily directed at anyone, unless he truly disagrees
with someone. He's just kind of nutty. I think he comes up with verbal
quips and posts them. I get a kick out of them, and make a point of
looking for them. It's a shame hardly anyone ever responds to them.
