Default selling off my book collection... again:(

I've accumulated way too many books and need to get rid of them. I hope to sell
them rather than give or throw them away. I have some of the classic Batsford
opening books in very nice condition (Dragon, Sozin, Richter-Rauser, Pirc,
etc.) as well as dozens of books (mostly from the 90's and 00's in such
openings as the French (13 books) Queen's Gambit (19 books: accepted, declined,
variants like the Colle and London) KIng's Indian (17 books). I have middle
game books, the complete Averbakh hardback collection of endgames (a classic),
and many, many others. At this point, I'd be glad for contact from anyone about
this collection. My email is . If I don't get much of a
response, I will catalogue them, but at this point I've got too much other work
to do. Rob Shore

It is curious to note that many who sell their book collections you
hardly ever see anyone selling there books on the Ruy Lopez, Slav or
Caro Khan type books. I usually see books sold on the French,
Sicilian or Kings Indian or Colle - Torre systems. Why is that. In
the USA in tournaments you hardly see anyone play the black side of a
Ruy Lopez. The Fischer influence must still be strong.

An interesting observation. I would have said, based on experience playing
in England, that the lack of Ruy Lopezes was down more to the players of the
White pieces varying before move 3, perhaps with a few Ruy Exchange
variations. I remember that in theory I used to play the Marshall, but only
got the chance very rarely indeed. That could just be the people I happened
to play, of course.

Arfur

I'm living in the US. I don't know the cost of sending a book to the UK but it
probably is fairly high.
