Default Bobby Fischer is in Jail in Japan

..
Russian players to go easy on each
other but put their full efforts against Fischer. As well as using
their almost monopoly of the chess world to press for rule changes
that would make it harder on him. IB one of the reasons this
vindication never came to light in the media at large is the fact that
as a person, he's a real asshole.

This clown seems to have "missed" the fact that the rules were changed such
as to *help,* not hinder, Fischer.

After a rules change which forbade the premature agreement to draw (in
response to complaints which had been issued by Fischer about some of his
Russian opponents who finsihed ahead of him in one tourney), he violated the
very rule they passed at his behest. When confronted, his retort was: "those
rules are for Russian cheaters, not me."

Another rule change made it extraordinarily difficult for Russian players,
like Tal and Keres, to qualify in the FIDE world championship cycle, because a
quota had been implemented -- one which arbitrarily limited the number of
players who could qualify from "any one country" (i.e. the former USSR).
Even if, say, Keres, had been one of the top seven players in the world, he
would not likely be able to qualify due to this quota system, which unfairly
targetted the Russian players, because they were too good at chess, and their
country, too large.

Last, but not least, although Fischer never qualified for the interzonal, he
was, nonetheless, "negotiated" a spot by Ed Edmondson, head honcho of the USCF.

To sum up, contrary to what this imbecile contended, Fischer had gobs of help
-- not hinderences -- and his real obstacles in winning the title were mainly
psychological in nature.

Edmondson, Evans and Benko, who let the "psychotic" prowl the world
without
forcing him to get help.
