Latest news - the Japanese authorities have indicated they want to
deport Bobby Fischer to the US, and he has appealed against their
decision.

Note that there has been no official talk of extradition. I believe this
is because the US government wouldn't have a hope in hell of extraditing
him, therefore they simply want the Japanese authorities to hand the
prisoner over to US authorities to be frogmarched onto a US aeroplane
and flown to captivity in the US.

It is imperative that he be granted asylum in a third country, to
prevent him from being grabbed by the US authorities.
