Alter ego
How do you pronounce alter ego?
Up until about 10 years ago I said the first word exactly the same as the English word 'alter'. Now I say alter as in German - but am I being pretentious? -- Work like the ponies in coalmines. Dance like the teardrop explodes. Love like you're Frank in Blue Velvet. Sing as though your little throat would burst.

English word 'alter'.
Now I say alter as in German - but am I being pretentious? That's OK, there is since yesterday an 'alter' German citizenship
