Does someone know where I might get a small Staunton
or near-Staunton wooden chess set, with King height about 1.5-1.75 inches? Cheers, Chris |

I bought the 51150 from http://www.simplysports.co.uk/ a while ago. Steven -- Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two. -- Frederic Chopin |

I bought the 51150 from http://www.simplysports.co.uk/ a while ago. Hi Steven thank you for this. If I can't get the pieces separately, I guess I'll have to buy a board too (I am going to make my own board/box, playing areaabout 270mm-280mm square - hinged at the side rather than in the middle). The 51150 looks about right, playing area about the right size. Would I be right to think the King height is about 45mm or 1.75"? 58mm actually, I've just measured mine. The London Chess Centre does something similar. As do http://www.bcmchess.co.uk/ and it's a nicer shop. I think the London Chess Centre always looks grubby. But then with the amount of traffic on the Euston Road I shouldn't be surprised. They both seem really expensive though.
