Leroy Dubeck endorses a new slate of 5 by samsloan
Sam Sloan, Joe Lux, Don Schultz, Mike Goodall and Stephen Jones. This is the senior citizens team that have ruled the USCF for nearly 300 years and we'll rule the USCF for another 300 more. We need to keep the USCF the way it is.

Blitz Rules Question by chipschap@gmail.com
I played an online 5/0 blitz tournament recently on a well-known server; in one game, we came down to an ending with a rook and two pawns on each side and no real distinguishing features except---- I had a minute and a half left on my clock and the other guy had 9 seconds. He started repeatedly offering a draw. I did not accept and ran him out of time and won. He sent me a very angry message...

Sam Sloan Candidate's Statement for June Chess Life by samsloan
I played in my First USCF Rated Tournament, the North Carolina Open, in 1956. As a tournament player for more than 50 years, just about everybody in chess knows me or has heard my name. The USCF has annual revenues of $3.2 million, down from $6.5 million at its peak. $3.2 million is enough for us to live very well. Yet, the USCF has lost money for 9 of the last 11 years. There is no excuse...

Letter from Al Lawrence and the USCF Check for $24,000 that Bounced by samsloan
Dear Al, Since you do not mention it in your letter but rather thank Joel Channing, I assume that you must not be aware that a check for $24,000 from the USCF to Jamie Anson bounced last week. I asked Bill Goichberg about this at the Foxwoods tournament this past weekend. Goichberg acknowledged that the check had bounced but said that this was a clerical error caused when the clerk...

top twelve classical v. top twelve blitz players by Wlodzimierz Holsztynski (Wlod)
I wish someone would organize such an exciting match, even once per year. Take twelve available top rated FiDe players and twelve available top blitz players who are not on the list of the top 120 top rated FIDE players, and let them play a blitz match. Would ICC be up to the task

I call upon Rob Mitchell to identify yourself by samsloan
In the last few days, Rob Mitchell has been making postings which many will find objectionable. These postings are of a sexually suggestive or semi-porn nature. There are 36 USCF members named Rob or Robert Mitchell. It is one of the most common names among USCF members. I call upon the Rob Mitchell who posts here to identify himself. What is your USCF ID number so that we can identify you on...

After using ChessBase Light for years with no problem, for some reason the board window has diappeared. Any ideas how to activate? I tried reinstalling it to no avail. THe only thing I did was uninstall an old Fritz program, but I doubt the programs share .DLLs Maybe it's time I switch to SCID if I don't hear anything from here... RL

Oklahoma Chess Association Video by samsloan
A video has been posted of the 2003 meeting of the Oklahoma Chess Association. This video is online at http://www.ochess.org/governance/meetings/annual/2003/video.htm There does not seem to be anything remarkable about this meeting. However, it led to a break-up of the Oklahoma Chess Association into two warring factions. A member of one of the warring factions is now running for USCF election.

The Award for "Shining Light on the USCF 2007" by samsloan
Bill Goichberg was severely critical of the group that had presented me with the award for "Shining Light on the United States Chess Federation 2007". Goichberg arrived just a few minutes after I had been given the award and he angrily went around complaining about it. I suspect that whomever told him that it was a "joke" did so to deflect criticism from Goichberg. There were about one thousand...

Use of Discussion Groups for personal attacks by Rob
It's very tiresome to readnothing but personal attacks. It is childish and counter productive. Persons interested in organized chess activities who may searching these groups for more information is likely to be turned off by all of these banal comments. You may do as you like. Just realize that you do yourself and chess the greatest disservice by continuing along this path. Rob
