Hal Bogner scolded by honest Winchester by samsloan
Hal, I've got a simple solution for you. Don't butt in to matters that are not of relevance to you. You had no standing to request confidential communications that didn't involve you. You can also calm the waters by stopping the falsehood that I've been malfeasant in my duties. Stop the complaining. You have yet to have any FOC action leveled against you, so why all the fuss from you? Is uppose...

Goichberg, Channing and Schultz are in it with Lafferty, Bogner and Quinn by samsloan
I was physically present at the Executive Board meeting. Mr. Bogner, Mr. Payne, Mr. Hanken, Mr. Nolan and board members saw me in the room. I spoke twice but mostly listened. It is highly unusual to see a committee vote unanimously one way and to have the Executive Board vote unanimously the other way. Needless to say, the Board vote makes matters very difficult for the members of the...

Hal Bogner of chessmagnetschool.com got caught by samsloan
'Papers' were served. A legal 'paper' from a lawyer that participates in the USCF forums regarding the contents of a supposedly private message from a forum user to the FOC is rather threatening to a non- lawyer don't you suppose? Was this really called for in the sake of 'transparency'? I think not... Gregory _________________ Gregory Alexander

Hal Bogner, David Quinn and Brian Lafferty caught! by samsloan
The 3 chicos are caught. Beware of Hal Bogner, David Quinn and Brian Lafferty. That's not the point, David. You had no authority whatsoever to pass along information to others. As a result, and by unanimous vote, you were given a no confidence vote by the FOC. The EB decided to ignore the wishes of ENTIRE committee. Personally, I don't consider any of our communications private anymore as long...

Hal Bogner and Brian Lafferty's lies by samsloan
According to the public EB audio transcript that was initially released, Hal Bogner indeed had access to the FOC; not because he is an FOC member, but one of the members still in the FOC gave Hal, and allegedly, his other personal friends such as Brian Lafferty, access to the information in the private FOC and moderators forums. Furthermore, David also submitted the contents of the private...

I have a motion to give the Polgar to Polgar by samsloan
Susan Polgar has stated that she wants to move the Polgar tournament to Lubbock, Texas and to take over running the event herself. She does not want it held in connection with the US Open any more. Previously, the "Polgar" tournament had been designated as a USCF National Event and has been run by the "Polgar Committee". I feel that we should not stand in her way. Technically, the event is USCF...

Brian P Lafferty is ready to sue the USCF by judgementday@clerk.com
Brian, Do you need a hug? You have posted nearly 600 times, and the vast majority are so negative and attacking, I worry for you. Some people have pointed out that your behavior on this forum parallels your behavior on the cycling forum. In the cycling forums, correct me if I am wrong about this, you seem to post repeatedly bashing Lance Armstrong. Now you come to chess, and you pick another...

Schultz, Goichberg and Sloan are at it again by judgementday@clerk.com
Erik Anderson and the AF4C convinced American Airlines to be a major sponsor for the USCF. Mr. Goichberg and Schultz decided that it's a good idea to include Sam Sloan in the negotiation for this deal. After receiving a nice letter from Mr. Sloan, American Airlines said never again. The deal was dead. Let's vote for Sam Sloan, Schultz, Lux and Jones! 4 years with them will surely kill the USCF...

Los Angeles Open Chess Tournament by expochess07@yahoo.com
Cunning Chess Players Win! Are you hopelessly straightforward and trustful? We, the subtle, convoluted, and bold players of the Exposition Park Chess Club very greatly desire the attendance of wily chess players. This coming first Sunday of the month, June 3rd, will be the occasion of a free, unrated, open, three-round chess tournament. Cash prizes will *NOT* be awarded, but the names...

my advice for Gata by EG
I think you need to play 1.e4 in game 3 to mix three ups and keep bacrot on his toes. or you could play the english opening as white and still transpose to d4 positions. playing 1.Nf3 2.c4 is a good option.

Susan Polgar Version of the "National Chess Championship" by samsloan
I see what you mean. Her comments are he http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2007/05/success-of-china-and-demise-of-us.html Her blog contains an amazing number of false statements even by the standards of Susan. By the way, she quotes me directly without attribution. Among her many false and misleading statements is: "No board member has spoken to me about this."

E. Forry Laucks by samsloan
E. Forry Laucks was one of the great patrons of the game of chess from the 1930s until his death on July 31, 1965 during the US Open Chess Championship in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. In 1934, Laucks established the Log Cabin Chess Club in his home at 30 Collamore Terrace, West Orange, New Jersey. All the top players played there for the substantial cash prizes he offered at the major tournaments...

Neoorthodox Chess by Mats Winther
What would happen if we increased the board with one more square to the bottom right? The corner square provides a hiding nest for the king should the player want to invoke play on the same wing and advance with the pawns. Extended castle rule: besides normal castling one can choose to move the king three squares instead of two. The rook ends up on its usual square. The extended castle rule...
