Printing all games with end position diagram by Chris L
This seems like it should be simpler than it is! I am seeking a program that will allow me to export a file/filter/set of games with the header(s), moves, and a diagram of the final position of each one... SIMPLY. Explanation: I am playing a bunch of correspondence games. I can easily export all games in progress to a PGN file (using Scid). But what I can't seem to do is find a way to...

Repetition in Capablanca-Lasker Wch game 5, 1921 by David Richerby
In the fifth game of the Lasker-Capablanca World Championship match (1921), the same position occurs after Black's 34th, 36th and 38th moves but the draw was not claimed and Black went on to lose. Does anyone know why? Winter says that the threefold repetition rule dates back to London 1883 so it seems likely that it applied to this match. Chessgames.com quotes Capablanca's notes on the game...

New web site for chess enthusiasts by Anonymous
I have found a web site that should be of interest to chess fans. In its "Quotes" section, it has many quotes from great chess players, along with their photographs and links to more information about each player. You do have to scroll through several other quotes to get to the chess quotes scattered throughout that section. Its "Links" section also has many useful and interesting...

Strange Posting Pattern of muskraattt@yahoo.com by samsloan
In just the last day since I banned Rob Mitchell from posting to the FIDE-chess Yahoo group, a new entity has joined and quit this group 7 times!!!! It seems likely that this person is the same person as Rob Mitchell. Meanwhile, Rob Mitchell has been filling up all the threads over on rec.games.chess.politics with attacks on me, in much the same way that the Fake Sam Sloan...

Coward Sloan bans Mitchell by Chess One
Sam Sloan wrote in a Fide newsgroup of which he is moderator that he is to ban Rob Mitchell from posting in it - this follows challenges to Sloans truth about the porn at his site. I think everyone should read my own response in that group. //Phil Innes -- He invited you to play chess! He gave you his physical address and phone number. Sam Sloan now pretends he never noticed either the...

Ambitious Pawn? by MissesManyMoves

Or maybe it didn't promote, but simply captured far more than the typical amount of material for a pawn? Just a random curiosity on a rainy Thursday evening... Steve
