Fritz 10 question by Neil Coward
I have put in a game I played recently where I was sure I had a won endgame but only drew it. What I want to do is click through the game to the ending then set engine vs engine and see if Fritz can win the ending against Fritz. How do I do that?

blasts form the past by Chess One
while reviewing some ancient messages, i have found some beauties; here is a topical one about the recently deceased david bronstein On another topic, I've heard that the radio match is postponed/cancelled. Pity, because there is a beautiful anecdote in Bronstein's "Sorcerer's Apprentice" on how he only learned to drink Scotch because of such a match. I trust all is going...

Dirt on Tanner? by samsloan
wrote: Ok who wants to spill all dirt available on Tanner? Let's hear it all. Everyone knows Tanner screwed Beatriz Marinello during a national scholastic event a while back. They were caught in bed together. She got a bid after that as a thank you. Sam Sloan

chess problem in movies - the 9th gate by Chess One
I see that chessville also features a chess based puzzle which will now become a movie - see the article by Robert Tuohey at http://www.chessville.com:80/misc/History/PastPawns/NinthGateProblem.htm where the 7th card is discussed. The movie was directed by Roman Polanski, and starring Johnny Depp He asks a question about the position that is shown "If this position is original with the...

I used to look at this group once in a while but now it's been hijacked - hopefully someone will come out with a way to moderate the group or filter out postings by the foul mouthed moron with the initials SS and the people who take the bait and answer his postings.

Don Schultz used me by samsloan
He fed me information for decades to attack the people he hates. He wanted to get rid of Tanner and I did it for him. Now that I'm banned from www.uschess.org/forums, he turned his back against me. He wants to win the next election and he thinks I'm a liability to him. He's kissing Polgar's ass because he thinks she can help him win. Don is wrong. I'll get much more votes than Polgar and her...

Why worship? by RSHaas@aol.com
Why would an infinitely powerful Supreme Being care if it was worshiped by mere mortal humans? The act of worshiping something or someone is to exalt that thing or person to a high esteem or position and to hold it and maintain it on a high level. We can imagine, for example, the adoration bestowed upon Bear Bryant, Alabama's great football coach. We can think of Robert E. Lee and his...

I'll sue the USCF by samsloan
Mike Nolan, Bill Hall, Joel Channing, Don Schultz and Bill Goichberg are responsible for banning me from the USCF forum. These *******s have no right to do this. They violated my freedom of speech. I'll sue these dickheads to teach them a lesson. They said I posted confidential information. So what? If they didn't want me to post, they shouldn't have given the confidential info, should they?...

Mike Nolan is out to get Beatriz Marinello by samsloan
Beatriz, I respect you too, but I believe you are ABSOLUTELY WRONG in your analysis here. Board members have a DUTY to protect the confidentiality of material they receive in conjunction with their office. The USCF has been FAR TOO LAX in sanctioning Board members for the rampant violations of confidentiality that have occurred over the years I've been involved with the USCF.

My friend Beatriz defends me by samsloan
I do not agree with applying a penalty based on a new rule that its being implemented retroactively. The phrase Nulla poena sine lege (Latin: "no penalty without a law") refers to the legal principle that one cannot be penalised for doing something that is not prohibited by law. This principle is accepted as just and upheld by the penal codes of virtually all modern democracies. It is related to...
