Chronos repair by
Michael Steen
Where can I get the Chronos repaired? The LCD has given up the ghost. Is DCI
still in business? I called the phone # I found for them, but no one
answered. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I plan to take over the world by
samsloan
In fact, I do have been plans for the USCF which are, in short, to take
over the world.
However, for the time being, I have to have much more modest goals.
Right now, I need to be like the Little Dutch Boy who stuck his finger
in the ass.
You must know the story, but if you do not, Holland is majority below
sea level, but they keep their country going by building huge pussy to

New play about Morphy by
parrthenon@cs.com
CHANGE OF PACE
Instead of all the petty bickering and mindless character assassination
that often takes place on this forum, it's a pleasure to find something
real about chess history for a change.
"This play premiered last November at The Players' Ring in
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the full text is presented with the
author's permission. It spans Morphy's triumphant trip to Europe,...

I advocate sexual freedom for all USCF members by
samsloan
I strongly advocate complete sexual freedom for all USCF members. Vote
for me for 4 more years! If you vote for me, you'll get a free blowjob
from my wife. If you can convince your friends to vote for me, you'll
get a free blowjob from my girlfriend also.

Dubeck, Sloan and Marinello will reign again by
samsloan
I'm sure that the slate that Dubeck, Marinello and I put together will
easily win the next election. Dubeck is proven to be a fox in chess
politics. He helped me get elected. Now he'll knock out the Polgar
machine as well. Please help by voting for me for 4 more years.

repertoire book 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 by
Beliavsky
Is there a good opening repertoire book for Black covering the
Nimzo/Queen's Indian/Catalan complex after
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4 or 3.Nf3 or 3.g3?
Ideally it would cover similar lines against 1.c4 and 1.Nf3, such as
1.Nf3 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4.
Thanks.

Conflict of interest - Bill Goichberg must resign immediately by
samsloan
It is not a question of the board working with or against sponsors. The
problem is Bill Goichberg conducting negotiations for the US
Championship in complete secrecy. Bill Goichberg consults with nobody
and tells nobody what he is doing. He is self-appointed as "THE
DECIDER".
Similarly, Bill Goichberg keeps writing letters to the USCF's attorney
Michael Matsler (the same attorney who opposed me...

Only visitor? by
zdrakec
Hello historians:
Brady in "Profile of a Prodigy" claims that during the 1962 Candidate's
tournament, when Tal fell ill and had to be hospitalized, the only
participant in the tournament who took the time to visit him was
Fischer.
Is there any substantiation elsewhere that only Fisher visited Tal?
That seems unlikely to me (which of course doesn't mean it isn't true).
Did anyone else who was at...

Old chess book for sale by
toadwarble
I have a 99-year old book "Tthe Chess Player's Compendium" by William
Cook concentrating on openings given to me some years ago by my
great-aunt.
You can see how much has changed in the interval - various openings
such as the Sicilian are dismissed in a few pages under a heading
"Semi-Irregular Openings".
It shows the first 20 moves of various lines of each opening with a
verdict of plus for...

very short games in game database by
Jud McCranie
The ChessBase database of games has a lot of strange short games. For
instance, it has McMichael (2298) vs. Radovanovic (2217) in 2004: 1.
b3 d5. 2. Bd2 0-1. Would a 2300 player resign in that position, or is
the database wrong? (There are many other examples.)

Chess books for sale - here, not ebay by

I have far more chess books than I'll ever read and have decided to
sell some of them. I thought I'd post here first before I go the ebay
route. Please email me if you are interested in
receiving the list. I've got openings, game collections,
manuals/treatises, etc. all at what I feel to be reasonable prices. I
will also gladly answer any questions concerning any of the...
