Nomorechess is going to be beaten now!!! by
Sanny
Ha Ha Ha,
There was again a bit of improvement done. Now The GetClub Game now
will give advantage to 2 Bishops than knights. So Nomorechess will face
difficulty winning the games.
Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html
Well if he plays with Beginner & Easy levels then he may survive but
if he plays with Normal Level I am sure he has to loose Matches.

FIDE bows to USCF pressure and converts by
Rob
USCF is very powerful. Part of the secret deal to keep Kirsan in power
was the agreement to convert all FIDE documents to "REDNECK"!

See for yourself! Sam SLoan should get to the bottom of this!

Six-piece endgame summary? by
Jud McCranie
Is there a summary of the results of the six-piece endgame tablebases
that gives the general result of each (i.e usually a win, usually a
draw)? I think I've seen this somewhere, but I can't find it again.
In fact, I think someone posted a link in this newsgroup a few months
ago, but I can't find it. Thanks.

What are Kramnik's weaknesses? by
Zero
Kramnik is not a perfect player and he has to have a weakness. So what
is his weakness and what kind of position do you have get into to beat
him? Is he not good tactically? Shirov beat in that match in 1998 in
sharp positions.
Topalov won 1 game by forfeit and he just won 1 game now. But it had
been a struggle for him. So what does he have to do win again ?

Tony Snow: Bush is "one of those guys at the gym who plays about 40 chessboards at once" by
Williams
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/16/us/politics/16snow.html
Bush's Press Secretary Is Raising Money, and Some Eyebrows
By SHERYL GAY STOLBERG
October 16, 2006
ST. CHARLES, Ill. - Tony Snow draped his lanky frame across a wooden
lectern, leaned forward and gazed out at 850 adoring Republicans who
had paid $175 apiece to hear him speak. There was a conspiratorial
gleam in his eye, as if he was about...

Understanding Chess and specializing by
Zero
I have a question as to why GMs play one opening all the time in their
games. If I master an opening, does that mean that I understand chess?
If there is a 2500 GM who plays the Pirc all the time, does that mean
he can also play the French at the 2500 as well? If not, doesn't that
mean that he really don't understand chess?
Don't the GMs get bored playing the same positions over and over...

Modern players with Morphy-like style? by
Anon User
Hi.
Are there any modern (say, since about 1950), titled players with a
Morphy-like style?
I like the way Morphy played, and think it could be very effective at
club level, but often his opponents seemed to possess less skill than
today's strong club players. This makes studying his games a little
less educational than it would have been if he played stronger
opposition, IMO.

Proof that Capablanca cheated using CM9k in 1918! by
Wilma
Chessmaster 9000 analyzed the classic game Capablanca v Marshall, New
York 1918. It was in this game that Marshall introduced the Marshall
Gambit.
I used the factory settings for CM, including a hash table of 4MB. The
analysis was done by the Chessmaster 9000 personality. I set the time
alloted to analyze a move at 180 seconds to simulate classical time
control. My machine has 256M memory...

European club names - please help! by
OlimpBase
The 2006 edition of the European Club Cup is over and it is time to take a
loot back through history of this competition. Recent times we have
intensified efforts to do thorough research on this exacting task.
Unfortunately, not only plenty of important data is missing, but we are
facing major difficulties while working on standarization of team names.
This is why you are cordially asked to...

Kr-Tp, game 12 by
Wlodzimierz Holsztynski (Wlod)
Both players have performed quite a bit
of piece dancing, perhaps Topa more so.
Anyway, wouldn't 24.h3 or even 22.h3
buy Kramnik some decisive time for
pressing on the queen side?
Now, after 24.h3 or 22.h3, if Topa
played g4, Kramnik responds with h4.
Then Topa may insist on g-7-g5 but

Trying to Replicate Danailov's Findings by
Taylor Kingston
As can be read he
http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3401
Topalov's spokesman Danailov considers it suspicious that there is a
similarity between Kramnik's moves and the recommendations of the
Fritz9 computer engine. Trying to check Danailov's
results, I analyzed game 2, where he claims that after the end of the
book line, from move 18
thru the end of the game at move 63,...

The 1/x rule strikes AGAIN: Topalov Routes Kramnik In Game Nine by
Ray Gordon, creator of the \pivot\
Wow, second time in a row Topalov is "lucky" enough to have Kramnik slam
into his home preparation. This one was all but over by the sixteenth move,
and shows what happens when a player establishes superiority in the opening:
