Financial crisis versus Redman's rating by
Sam Sloan
Financial crisis versus Redman's rating
Dear Mr. Sloan,
It is correct that my rating dropped below 2000, and I played in a
Southwest Open and tied for first for the A prize. An old friend from
Ohio, David Hater, playing in the same event and remembering my 2100+
rating from those years made a jocular remark about my winning an A
prize.

Hanken more Fully Explains the OLM Title
Jerry Hanken called me at 7:00 AM this morning to continue our
conversation of last night. He says that I caught him as he was on the
way out the door when I called him to ask about the OLM Program and he
answered off the top of his head and that he was unaware of the thread
that was going on.
When Jerry hurriedly finished the previous conversation, he...

Is a pawn worth a sacrifice? by
Sanny
When I play with Beginner Level, I find the computer sacrifices its
pawns for no reasion. But Once I am pawn up, I find that it is taking
long time to defeat it. So was this pawn sacrifice done to improve the
game position.
Play a game at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html
But when I play with Easy/ Normal Levels It does not sacrifices pawns
as it calculates its pawns being killed and save...

The Curse of Pillsbury by
mjcar@btinternet.com
The lunatic called Sam Sloan madly drivelled:
The source of the Pillsbury malady was his wife, Mary Ellen Bush. He
married her in 1901. She had a genetic disease inherited from her
great grandfather, Prescott Bush (1758-1846).
By now, everybody of above average intelligence should have figured
this out. The grandfather of our great leader was also named Prescott
Bush !!!!

Ensuring Sam Sloan does not get to sit on the EB by
Ray Gordon
I predict that, handled properly, this could get to the Post or the
Times -
as well as Slate, which may count for more.
And my rebuttal dossier will follow within seconds.
A chess federation that hires a relative of a known organized crime figure
is in a very precarious position to be talking about morality on its board,
but feel free to see what the public thinks.

This shows how unproductive and petty you people can be; it may be a
contributing factor to the sorry state of affairs within the USCF.
You mean to say that you are willing to waste your time and money on
this, all because 1 board member you don't like was elected?
You guys really need to focus on chess.

I know her e-mail address, her mother might answer that, but I would
suggest people contact Couldsdon Chess Club in the first instance. It
appears to have been suicide; she's the last person I would have
thought. She'd achieved so much in her short live and had so much to

THE PLOY AGAINST SAM
"Sam is a convicted criminal" is the predictable
first salvo against the man after his election.
What surprises me just a bit is that this ploy
does not get more mileage.
Here are the reasons:

My old man won!!! sam Sloan, about time, What a reliefe....OUT WITH THE OLD by
Peter Aravena Sloan
I hate to admit that I think Sam Sloan might actually try to make a
change in the federation.
Being that I am rated 2250 FIDE and 2201 USCF, I have a lot of disgust
for things that never get done in this federation.
Noone on the board of directors has ever been FIDE rated, or relies on
playing chess as a source of income.
Few things we need.

New rate at ICC? by
Gil Baron
Worth it or not?. Will it lose members or not? I think the allowed five years at lower rate will cancel any losses. It did for me. I think 209 for five years is a steal.
I think no play for non member is a mistake myself. It may cost more than it saves?
