Lukasenko and chess by
Goran Tomic
Does Belarus president Lukasenkom play chess? He seems very clever man, so I
wouldn' be surprised if he is a good chess player.

Mistake or Greatest Performance Ever By a Player Rated 418? by
realtime
http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?200302178070-12866780
Check out player #3 on this crosstable. It appears that a Chicago junior high school kid, rated 418, swept a group of experts and masters 6-0 at the 2003 US Amateur Team, then dropped out of sight. This HAS to be a mistake, right? Can anyone enlighten me as to what happened here?
Thanks in advance.

Why Marcus Roberts is a better chess politican than Sam Sloan by
Andrew Zito
Ambassador wrote:
I say this because I know, as a FIDE Delegate, what is coming next.
I ACTUALLY WON A USCF ELECTION (Regional Vice Presdient) as a write in
candidate. Sam Sloan has never won a chess election, and will never
win, becasue he keeps on LYING.
I was also elected VP of the TExas Chess Association.

Bill Brock? Where is his lame self? by
Communist Stooge
Does anyone remember when Bill Brock was constantly posting stuff about
Sloan? Then Sloan kicked his butt and took his man-hood at the Chess
Showdown, and that was the last of Bill Brock.
Where is he now?

List of FIDE Member Nations, provided by Sam Sloan by

FIDE Federations
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
FIDE is the largest organization in the world, in terms of number of
nations. There are at present 158 member nations of FIDE. There were
159 until recently, when one was dropped. The list fluctuates, as new
nations join and sometimes national federations collapse or are unable
to pay their dues.

Botvinnik v Dus Chotimorsky by
Alan OBrien
Botvinnik and the rest of the younger generation were not liked in the 1933
USSR Championships. In the game Botvinnik v Dus Chotimorsky, the latter
played on in a known-drawn rook ending where he was a pawn up. Apparently
they even played on with just K & R each until the TD stepped in. Dus
Chotimorsky said he was going to play on until 150 moves had been reached.
The score of the game is now...

Chess Master Peter Manetti has died by
Randy Bauer
Another example of Sloan's legendary inability to research and report. I
guess I also missed one of his legendary retractions and apologies for the
screw up. No doubt, some chess database will now list this as an Evans
game.

Student Olympiads by
OlimpBase
Hello,
I am completing detailed results of the Student Team Championship (AKA
Student Olympiads) started in 1954 and ceased in 1977.

results of the following events: 1954, 1962, 1963, 1971, partly 1977.
I you happen to owe a tournament book from Sajtar's excellent series (or any
other source) please be so kind and get in...

All or almost all chess columns to be cut from Chess Life by
Sam Sloan
All or almost all chess columns to be cut from Chess Life
When the news came that the Larry Evans chess column was being
cancelled, naturally we assumed that it was a political move, because
several times in past years Evans has been fired by various
politicians, only to be reinstated later.
However, this was followed with the news that the Rohde column had
been cancelled too.

Chess & Wikipedia by

rgc groups are not serious most of the time. I think that now is a
proper time for serious people to be serious about the situation which
involves two activities: chess and Wikipedia. Please, set aside your
attitude toward Sam Sloan and look at the issues, at the big picture.
One of the issues is the validity of the whole cocept of Wikipedia,
which right now is under doubt.
