The Sam Sloan Show at 3:30 PM Today by
Jerzy
Is there a way to get the video as a download?
Yes Sam, you should definitely place somewhere your lesson cause I managed
to watch only several last minutes of it and Japanese chess sounds exciting

World Chess Championship Special by
karim
Dear Chess Friends-
Hurricanes, Hurricanes and Hurricanes.....
Katrina and Rita, they might put us on back feet, since we live in East
Texas. But they couldn't stopped our efforts to publish one of the
great "online magazine" the "Chess Chronicle"
The next two issues going to be a "World Championship Special".
This features annotated games by some of the leading grandmasters and

I am selling my chess library by
Roy Schmidt
Sorry to break in on the Sam Sloan/Bill Brock and/or Larry Parr/Eric
Schiller debacles, but here is something of a different nature.
I am sadly faced with a large number of classic chess books that I
will not read or refer to again, because of a big change in my life.
Some of them are rare first edition hardcover books. I have managed
to list most of them on half.com
(search for me,...

Chessmaster 10th edition??? by
Mama Bear
Does anyone here use CM 10th edition?
If you do, with the tutorials, can you save your place in them?
I have 9000 and if I get halfway through a tutorial ( for example
screen 175 out of 275 ) and have to shut the computer down, I lose
my place, there's no apparent way to save your place in the
tutorials.
Can you at least save your place in the tutorials in 10th edition?

Selective Umbrage by
parrthenon@cs.com
DESPICABLE
Taylor Kingston convinced readers not to buy the books by Eric
Schiller,
Raymond Keene, Larry Evans and Larry Parr. Had they known that Taylor
Kingston was only a 1811 player, they would have paid no attention to
his book reviews and more importantly no publisher would have been
willing to publish them. I think that because of this lie, Taylor
Kingston should be sued, prosecuted,...

Graphical interfaces for FICS? by
Lakewood Chess
People keep telling me that I should meet them on FICS for a game
but I can't stand the interfaces they have for it.
Is anyone ever gonna come out with one that has graphics as good as
the top board view using the mohogany set in CM9000?
I wonder why someone hasn't developed one with actual top view
photos of a tournament set?

Think I found a bug in CM9000 by
Mama Bear
I think I found an odd bug in CM9000. I can beat all the opponents
with a 1200 rating except Krycec. When I play him, the program
seems to jump in rating and beats me all the time. While it does
that, I also notice that I can't use the Ctrl-F to force moves
sometimes, it's like the program hangs in some weird ways.

Capablanca v Kostich by
Alan OBrien
Capablanca beat Kostich 5-0 in a match in 1919. Does anyone have the score
of all 5 games? I have 4 bt one is only partial - it's 15 moves.
At one point Capabanca thought he played his best chess in thia match.

Taking a Break from rgcp by
parrthenon@cs.com
FRESH AIR
Amazing what one gets done when not distracted by petty squabbles. So,
I have decided to take an indefinite break from rgcp. Too many better
things to do than argue all day with the likes of Parr, Sloan, Tomic et
al...So, I am going to get some fresh air.. Taylor Kingston
I told you so. As I noted in several messages, NM Taylor Kingston,
the 1800-rated but self-proclaimed 2300+ ELO...
