Goran's music career! by
Niemand
"When I was young I often listened country music. My favourite song
was "Hunging tree". -- Goran Tomic, 8 August 2005
Goran's too modest to mention it, but he had quite an impressive
music career of his own. To see one of his best videos, go to:

Question for miserable thief Neil Brennen by
parrthenon@cs.com
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
You admitted that you are false poster and that you tried to cheat
Wikipedia editors with your friend Kingston. Goran Tomic
Actually my point was the hypocrisy of the known thief, Tomic,
assuming an air of moral authority and calling someone else a thief.
Taylor Kingston (aka Xylothist, Paulie Graf, Neimand, etc., etc., etc.)
I haven't followed all the postings on the...

What the Hell happened to the website? by
Chris
I've been away from chess for the last 3-4 months and just checked out the
website and it's this cheesy page that the Main URL is broken on. WTF?
Everyone who is a member of the USCF should be ashamed of this. To the
point where you leave in disgust. Start a new organization. This is 2005.
If you don't realize that a great website is the most important
communication mechanism that you have...

Interesting records by
knucmo
I was studying Petrosian and Karpov's record against each other, since
they are both similar players, and this is what I found:
+1 = 12 - 1
Completely even against each other, they were well matched players. I
wonder if a younger Petrosian would have the better of his stylistic
successor. Having said that, Petrosian was still in form even in his
late-forties.

Any chess idiot savants? by
goma@my-deja.com
Of course we get our share of child prodigies, as does math or music,
but do we also get idiot savants (I've heard them called prodigious
savants--probably a recent pc term)?
Even if they aren't blistering geniuses, do they show up a Class A, for
example?

Chess Turn by
glenpawley@hotmail.com
I initially started this
as an exercise in the technologies involved, but I liked it enough to
finish it and now I want to see if the idea is sufficiently interesting
to other people.
Basically it's a turn-based chess playing site, ie. instead of playing
face-to-face, you play the next move in a series of games and you can
come back to those games a day later. But what makes it different is
that...

Thank God! by
Sam Sloan
George John effectively ptroves my case below. He admits that at the
2003 Delegates Meeting all that was presented was a "planning budget"
which was a budget to make a plan. The delegates did not approve or
vote upon a move to Crossville.
Also, further down, George John quotes "There was no decision made to
prevent a move to Crossville, only that other options were to be
considered first."
So,...

Brief recollections from Chinese Chess World Championships by
Alain Dekker
My name is Alain Dekker. I played recently in Paris in the Xiangqi world
championships as part of the UK team (as a South African resident in the
UK). I just wanted to give a few recollections. I hope that more will
follow:
Firstly, the experience was wonderful for me. I've only known the rules for
a little more than a year, but I really love this game. Chess players will
find that playing...

Chessmaster online? by
Mama Bear
I've been playing a little chess with Chessmaster here, I have the
9000 version. I was asking a friend in Florida if she played and
she said she hasn't in years. But I got to thinking that maybe we
could play online and recalled that you were supposed to be able to
do that using Chessmaster.
I tried it when I first got 9000 and couldn't get it to work, but
just tried it again and was able to...

Exeter Chess website has moved by
Dr. David Regis
Oops.
Exeter University, which has kindly hosted the Exeter Chess website for
a decade, has just given us the boot, on the not unreasonable grounds that
I
haven't worked for them for the last eight years, but I hadn't put
anything else in place.
So now:
