If I recall correctly (if not please correct me), I'm told that when one of the people who spout this "legend" gave his story, he said that he played Fischer as a guest on ICC, but that Fischer kept adding time to his clock. The European Team Championship has long, almost 50 year old history and most of European top players, including chess legends like Botvinnik, Tal, Spassky, Karpov and Kasparov, took part.
