notation before the move by anthony mee
Hello Group, I know that now notation before the move has become illegal, but what I can't find anywhere is what the sanction is when someone breaks this rule? Is it a warning with time penalty or a loss?? Could someone help, please. Anthony

get money! by vaaaaa1111@yahoo.com
A little while back, I was browsing some newsgroups and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought, "OK, why not try this if it is a scam I will only lose $6.00.". Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and

Kenneth Alan Graham - April 11th 1936 by I'm A Big Merrie Amsterburg Fan
Thursday March 31st 2005 90/275 17574 G R A H A M 7 18 1 8 1 13 = 48 Former Saskatchewan chess champion Ken Graham showed me his birth certificate today. Although being skilled at chess is not in itself a good indication of having a high level of intelligence, it is a better indication of level of intelligence than a person's degree of financial wealth.

What do you think of E-BOOKS? by Chris
Hello guys, I want to open a topic about the use of Chess E-Books. I have already bought some and I think it is worth using them and it takes no more than 5 minutes to get one. On the other hand, there is nothing better than the smell of fresh pages in your hands. Do you think it is worth waiting 2 weeks to receive a book ordered by Internet and isn't it risky? I have never done that before.

Tips on recording games by Dan-the-K
I'm a novice player and lose most tournament games. I'd like to go over and analyze the games at home, but find that I've usually made errors in recording the games. These errors prevent me from analyzing most of the game. Any tips on how better to record games in a tournament? For each move, I typically write it down before I make the move. That way I'll have one more opportunity to be sure...

Possible groups of pieces by Chess Baltimore
The number of possible groups of pieces that there could be is 32!, or 2=2E63130837 =D7 10 to the 35th power. This does not take into account promotions or underpromotions. There are 32 different pieces on the board, so there are many many differnt groupis of 2, 3, 4, 5,6 , 7, 8, 9, 10...30, 31, and maybe only one of 32 if we leave out repetitions. When I say groups of pieces, I mean the...

$50,000 for Clear Wiiner at HB Challenge by Gunsberg
I looked up Zviad Izoria on the FIDE ratings list: He has a rating of 2602, and is ranked 132nd in the World. He is the #3 ranked player in Georgia, behind Baadur Jobava (2637), and the colorful Zurab Azmaiparashvili (2679) Given Jobava's recent poor result in the Capablanca Memorial tournament in Cuba, Izoria may soon be vaulting to 2nd, amongst his fellow Georgians.
