It is the Nakamura Attack, and without even an official naming

I played that opening frequently 38 or 39 years ago, when I was 11 or

Lev Khariton: Kingston's reputation in Russia by
SveLeo@aol.com
When some years ago I sent my chess friends in Russia, very competent
chess players and journalists, Kingston's article on Botvinnik and
Keres, they were amazed that I was reading such a "historian". To begin
with, no one knew his name. Some of them called him a liar and
character assassin. Even a mud-slinger.I was trying to defend him, but
all in vain... Lev Khariton

new chess game in colour by
deedebee@gmail.com
hello,
i am an artist and have been working for some years on a new type of
chess game
(in colour)
the game is based on chess with the exception that the game i'm
proposing in
colour has a totaly different approach (instead of players attacking
each other
they need to co-operate to finish a game as quickly as possible)

Do not buy from Classic Chess and Games they are dishonest!!! by
Charles Kamaras
I have purchased a chess set for the elite a/s /wood/chesscomputer.
This guy named Bill send me a mismatched set /used/ for $100.00 and when I
send it back for a refund he would not refund my money!
I had to contact my credit card company and disputed the charges.
He still charged me a $30.00 restocking fee even though his website clearly
states that "there is never a restocking fee and there is...

Bruce's Best Book Picks by
parrthenon@cs.com
Here's an interesting Q&A for Bruce Pandolfini at chesscafe.com
Q. So Mr. Pandolfini, what are your favorite books?) Thank you. Brandon
Murray, USA
A. None of my own books are among my favorites. I kind of loathe them
all, but that's just me (actually, there may be a few others who feel
the same way -- let me look into that). As far as the other books
you've mentioned go, I think they're all...

What is with all these new "Deans" of chess? by
Sam Sloan
A recent issue of Chess Life magazine declared that Svetozar Jovanovic
was the "Dean of American Scholastic Chess".
I had no objection to this but some others did, pointing out that
whilke Svetozar Jovanovic has long been the chess coach for the Dalton
School and has won many national championships, Sunil Weeramantry has
won more and was the coach for the new US Champion, Hikaru Nakamura.

Solving in Style - John Nunn - Diagram 3 by
daz@emailme.com.au
I recently bought John Nunn's "Solving in Style" 1st edition 1985 from
a secondhand bookstore ($15 AU). I started reading the text that goes
with Diagram 3 and then tried to solve the mate in 2 problem. I found
what I believe is a solution that differs from that described in the
text. The main line being 1 Qc3, Ke7. 2 Rxe6+, Kf8. 3 Qg7++
Yes I spent all day thinking I'd found an alternative mate...
