Sam Sloan's Candidate's Statement in May Chess Life, page 12 by
Sam Sloan
SAM SLOAN
2005 will be remembered as the Year of the USCF Election Fraud. Do not
believe the fantastic claims make by some of the candidates here.
Those who claim that they have saved the USCF have not done so and are
actually trying to destroy it.
By the way, they are also trying to stop the publication of my
candidates statements in Chess Life, so do not be surprised if you
never get to read...

This Second in Chess on the rest day in Sofia by

Topalov played a simul against 6 amateurs, winning three and drawing three:

One of the amateurs is the Bulgarian minister who officially uncovers the 10
marble chess tables at the simul site:

Curious questions:

Up for auction: 11 chess books + chess set & board. by
montygram
I'm doing this for a friend. Here is the ebay auction description.
You can do a seller search for nju1. He has 100% positive feedback and
has been a member for several years. Auction starts at $29.95, with no
reserve. Shipping is actual, media/book rate okay.
The set is new and sealed, regulation tournament size (kings are 4" or
3 3/4" high), nice weight, and the board is near new, vinyl,...

Goof list of "Dangerous Moves" movie? by
Hauke Reddmann
The German dub went over TV lately. Since
"Nehmen Sie das Patt an?" ("Do you accept the
stalemate?" - No, the geezer shall play some
illegal move instead!!) sounds like a synchro
goof, which other chess bugs did you detect?
I found quite a few continuity errors on-board.

Diagramming Software- Big Batches by
Aaron Deskins
Howdy all,
I'm looking for software that can print (or save as graphic file)
many games in a pgn file and do it all at once. I have some pgn files
that have 300+ games, and I'd like to print diagrams of all (or some of
the games), but I don't want to spend ten hours loading each game
individually then printing it. I can already do this.
Any software recommendations?
Thanks

This Second in Chess on Sofia Round 4 by
PeteCasso
The day of the highly interesting, but strange openings. Topalov vs Kramnik
is a Petrof which turned into a kind of opposite colours Ruy Lopez type of
position where the Knights are exchanged on c6, here on c3, with the d pawn
recapturing and Topalov castling long, Kramnik having castled short. The
position is at move 13, but both players have already consumed about 90
minutes, thus they have to...

Tim Taylor's wife, Barbara Taylor by
Sam Sloan
Tim Taylor's wife, Barbara Taylor
Now that Tim Taylor's sex life is open for discussion, this brings up
a subject I have often wondered about.
In the 1970s, Tim Taylor used to bring his wife, Barbara, to all
Goichberg chess tournaments. She was one sexy hot bitch to beat all
other sexy hot bitches. She talked sexy, walked sexy, dressed sexy, in
every way acted sexy and she was beautiful.

Hey Ray Gordon! by
John J.
I've read your articles on training and now I have a question...
Do you recommend that I, current rating 1589, play one minute chess as a way
to help improve my game? I'm so bad at fast chess it's demoralizing...

Yaay! All 3 games are d4 games, what a relief from the Petrofs! Not long ago
Topalov has suggested to relegate the Petrof to theme tournaments in so far
the tournaments are not already Petrof theme tournaments!
Anand vs Adams started out in fact with c4 and a Reti-like Bg2 fianchetto
with Black responding with a hedgehog construct. So if that pesky clubmate
of yours likes to play the hedgehog,...
