Player info by
zdrakec
Hello all:
Can anyone point me to some information about one "Guillermo Garcia
Gonzales", who played in the 1982 Moscow Interzonal tournament (won by
Kasparov)? I have, of course, Google'd him, but the information I have
found has not seemed very reliable.
In particular, I am curious to know: what is his country of origin;
what titles he held (if any) at the time the Interzonal was played,...

Court transcript is ready. I need a volunteer to pick it up.
I have just received word that the court stenographer has prepared the
transcript of the hearing held in Orange County Supreme Court in
Goshen New York in the case of Sam Sloan vs. Beatriz Marinello and the
USCF.
I need somebody to go to the courthouse to pick up the transcript in
both paper and disk format and pay the $60 fee for the...

Identification of certain chess sets and another question? by
Original Z
Greetings all -
First of all, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if Kasparov
(or Karpov) "commissioned" or endorsed a specific chess set back in the
mid- to late-80s (MAYBE early 90's)? I thought I remembered seeing
something like that years ago in Chess Life, but just can't find any
meniton of it anywhere. As a sort of corollary to that, does anyone
know if Kasparov played with a...

Morphy Number by
Jeremy Spinrad
Some years ago, there were posts about the Morphy Number of players, that is the
shortest path of players such that Morphy played x, x played y,y played z, etc
with a particular player at the end of the path.
I have just realized in my research for an article on women's chess that Mrs.
Harriet Worrall might be a useful link here. Mrs. Worrall played 2 games against
Morphy, drawing one and losing...

How to incorporate games/positions into a website? by
DDEckerslyke
I've volunteered to put together our club's website. Although I fully
recognise Microsoft products are not great they are readily available and
for me pretty easy to use so I've decided to go with FrontPage. I'm fairly
happy with what I've got so far but it was suggested by someone who wouldn't
have to do all the bloody design etc that it would be an idea to be able to
play through some games or...
