I wonder what GMs think of Kasparov's book series? by
Alberich@somewhere.com
I wonder what GM's think of Gary Kasparov's work "My Great
Predecessors"? I would love to hear what Kramnik has to say about
this! Surprisingly I haven't heard much about their opinions about
his work so it would be curious to know their opinions and objections
to Kasparov's comments and game analysis.
I wonder what Bobby Fischer thinks about Kasparov's comments about his
career in Volume 4 for...

A star has fallen - Arnold Denker by
Chess One
Thank you Duncan and Paul for these notices. I never knew him, except to
appear at a strange photo-shoot where I stood with him and farcically where
he thought I was a Russian GM. :)
But I do know a German psychologist, a man whose perception I respect, and
who is much invested in chess, who said that Arnold's book on chess
personalities is the best of all publications of this
type.

Copyrighted Chess Games? I may be suing for this. by
Ray Gordon
As a publisher, I have standing to get a court to resolve the issues of
copyright and right-to-publicity as they relate to chessgames without having
to publish any games first (it's a "legitimate conflict" issue).
Basically, if I sue this way, I'd be seeking declaratory relief whereby a
court would declare that a chessplayer has the right to control who
publishes his name along with his...

Jennifer Shadahe has a Marker on the Scoresheet by
David Kern
White's 10th move on the scoresheet is also the 19th move of the game. Thus
you have 1019. The 10th letter of the alphabet is a J and the 19th letter is
an S. Thus you have JS, the initials for Jennifer Shahade. All chess games
where white makes at least 10 moves will have these initials. This leaves a
permanent marker for Jennifer Shahade or any one else with the initials JS
on the...

Yahoo Bans - 1984 - 20 years on. by
Chess One
A poster, Robert Kaucher, on a Yahoo Chess Improvement group has been
banned.
He had suggested in his postings yesterday to several other posters that
they e-mail with each other as a small group to discuss their games. This
idea seemed sensible and convivial, and did not excite any particular notice
among other posters than to agree to take part in it.
For reasons as yet unknown, Robert...

Fischer Mystically Linked To The Move "FBI" by
David Kern
After applying Rosicrucian mystical principles it was revealed to me that a
black rook on e4 signifies the FBI. The black rook is the 6th chessman and
e4 is the 29th square. This leaves you with 629. The 6th letter of the
alphabet is an F, the 2nd is a B and the 9th is an I, thus you have FBI.
The black rook on e4 thus represents the FBI.
The original cause of chess is unfolding and Bobby...

Over 2500 Chess players are dead. by
Jerzy
"David Pollitt" wrote in message ...
In one of the largest earth quakes ever recorded over 2500 chess players
in Asia have died.
These deaths included at least 2 GMs, and 15 IMs as well as hundreds of
young people who enjoyed playing Chess, who would have had very promising
careers in Chess had they lived.
Even without these unnecessary deaths of...
