Piece Coordination???? by
drummerman
Neil McDonald, in his book on the Middlegame, states that Piece
Coordination is the most important principle in chess. The problem is
that the concept Piece Coordination is abstruse. About the only
definition I could locate was in Hooper & Whyld: "the action of a
player's pieces when they work together." Duh! Can anyone in the
chess audience recommend some sources and/or definitions of...

Records of Early Chess Clubs by
John Townsend
I have used the records of the London Chess Club, which go back to 1807, and
I found them impressive in the detail about the club's members. They are
held in the London Metropolitan Archives.
Does anyone know of records of the Westminster Chess Club? Or for other
clubs around the 1830's?
Staunton is said by various modern writers to have started to frequent the
old Westminster club about...

I am thinking of bringing a lawsuit to stop the move to Crossville - Opinions Wanted by
Sam Sloan
I am thinking of bringing a lawsuit to stop the move to Crossville -
Opinions Wanted
For the past three days I have been receiving telephone calls and
e-mails from people asking whether I am going to file a lawsuit to
stop Beatriz Marinello from moving the USCF to Crossville, Tennessee.
I am certainly the best person to file such a suit, since I know how
to do it.

What is the basis for Innes' claim of "nearly IM" strength? by
Chess One
Dear Neil Brennen,
I have read your posts for some 5 years now, in a series of **OBSESSIVE**
stalkings. You are so thick you can't imagine it could possibly be your own
intelligence that limits your understanding of anything, and your writing is
fatuously and patently insincere, you could be re-defining the Ugly
American.
Apart from that, and a complete lack of serious contributions to chess...

Svidler pressurizing Grischuk who is in the process of castling artificially
with Kf8, g8, h7 because he has to defend his pawn h6 with Kh7 and Bg7, h6
is attacked by a Queen Bishop battery. Svidler is using the time to develop
an initiative at the Queen's wing, but nothing tanglible yet. We all wish
that we can castle artificially that safely in our own patzer games!

I am looking for an elo rating calculator program by
Mogath3
I am looking for an elo rating calculator program. EloCalc doesn't fit my needs
and I don't want to use one online. It needs to be a downloadable program. Been
looking for awhile and have turned up nothing. Any help anyone can provide is
greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Who leaked this to Parr? by
Parrthenon
We received this message from an insider. You can either take it with a grain
of salt or as the gospel truth, but my source will never be revealed.
This move to Crossville at this time and such notice is basically a disaster.
The offer from Liberty is not only on the table, but there are offers from
Lindsborg, Kansas; Erik Anderson said he wants to put in an offer; Ellenville,
New York...

Russian super championship by
Chess One
The games are off to a fine start with only 4 results from the first 10
games. Kasparov, Grishuk, Svidler and Dreev obtaining wins.
Too early to report on 'leaders' as such. The official site is
www.russiachess.ru
however, an easier to negotiate game replay engine is at www.ruschess.com

Is there a conflict between Sabine and Beatriz? by
KJ2350
I have no idea if it is true or
not but it comes from a generally good source and at least it seems
plausible.
Let me guess, you got this from Hans Christen Andersen.
Yeah, right before his fatal sledding accident.

How to Avoid Crossville Crisis by
Parrthenon
Win or lose -- the USCF can ill-afford astronomical legal fees in fighting this
lawsuit.
The simplest way to avoid this crisis, it seems to me, is for the board to hold
another teleconference placing the motion to move to Crossville in abeyance
pending a two-week delay to study the feasibility of the Liberty site --
provided that Bill Goichberg and Erik Anderson are still willing to...

Why all the fuss about Crossville? by
Rob Mitchell
I really do not understand all of the complaining about Crossville? I
think there is a great deal prejuding going on here. What difference
does it make where an adminstrative office is located? NONE! How many
times have you been to the USCF office? Of 90,000 members I would
venture to say less than 1 percent have seen it or know where it is.
I am new to the USCF. I am just getting back involved...

USCF bylaws overlooked by
Parrthenon
Personally, I wouldn't put an amount over the FDIC insurance threshold of
$100,000 in a single bank. Especially one with local ownership such as the one
in Crossville. -- Grant Perks
Mr. Perks makes an excellent point -- another reason to suspect that something
is rotten in Denmark and that the board has lied to us.
