can't visualize chess board by
arsenov
Alright, this is the point where I am at and my problem:
I've been playing chess for a few years, never really following a teaching
method. Well, I eventually found out that I had some very findamental pieces
missing in my chess knowledge (like being unable to visualize the board).
I got the Comprehensive Chess Course by Peltz and Alburt and started from
book ONE. This was around a week ago. My...

Next steps for training. Chess coach advice. by
jfrapper@lycos.com
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your kind words. I do want to be a good student! Mike,
in the previous post, mentions Dan Heisman. I happen to own a book of
his and his beginner articles are great on chesscafe. Another bonus,
is he lives within driving distance(under an hour)! However, I have my
limits when discussing the cost of lessons. Dan is just too high for
me.
There are a few...

Convert Yahoo! Games rating to USCF, CFC or FIDE by
Sonja Kisa
I'm wondering how the Yahoo! Games ratings compare to those of USCF,
CFC or FIDE. If anybody has any data or noticed any trends, it would
be interesting to compare the scales.
For example, if I have a 1180 Yahoo! Games rating, what might be the
equivalent rating under another system?
Peace,
Sonja

Someone asked Ray Keene this:
"I have always been curious to know the circumstances of the defaulted 1980
candidates final between Robert Huebner and Victor Korchnoi. In your 1981
book on the World Championship match of the same year, you write "after a
promising start the sensitive German Grandmaster ... blundered away a rook

Chess publishing software for weblog/cms wanted by
dIMITRI
Hi,
I am looking for software which makes it easy to publish games/analysis
on a cms/weblog. There are some chess weblogs, but normally they don't
publish games/analysis in the 'items'. I have found Palview: it's a nice
program and can be used on homepages, but it can't easily be integrated
with a cms, as far as I can...
