mis-informed.
First, Edmondson had to get the Soviets to agree to let Fischer play

Math and Chess Connection by
Frank Ho
I have written some math workbooks. One of them is a collection of
mathematical chess puzzles, math puzzles, and word problems. I believe my
idea of creating mathematical chess puzzles for elementary students will be
helpful to students.

playchess or icc? by
DDEckerslyke
I've played at ICC for a couple of years and I think it's really
excellent value for money. Today I had a run in with a power crazed
admin. As a frequent visitor to chessbase.com where they advertise
playchess I was thinking of switching, or at least having a look. So
what does anyone here think of the relative virtues and vices of the
two.
cheers

Draw Death? by
The Green Bastard from Parts Unknown
In the first five games of the Adams Kasimdzhanov match, White is
4.5-0.5. Statistical anomaly? Characteristic of these players? The
result of an early win by K? Or is (God forbid!) Kirsan's short match +
short time controls having the desired effect for spectators?
Perhaps a stronger player can comment. All four White wins have looked
pretty smooth to me, not "grinds" as Pete Casso has...

Table Top Chess Computers: Recommendations? by
Isidor Gunsberg
I'm searching for a Table Top Chess Computer, and would appreciate any
recommendations or suggestions.
I am keen to get a Table Top computer that features a playing
surface that is of a substantial size. Most of the computers that I
see on the market have squares that are just 1 inch on the sides. This
entails that the pieces are rather small. Usually, despite the fact
that the pieces are small,...

WTB 6" Staunton chess set that won't warp by
laocmo
Where can I find one? High quality resin plastic seems the most
stable. If I have to settle for wood I'd consider drilling a hole
through the bases for a steel rod. Seen too many old, tall chess sets
with Queens and Kings that lean.

info on 2 chess books by
TF
Hi folks,
I hope you can help me with this.
I am trying to remember the name/author/publisher of two chess books I
had and lost during a move some time ago.
If you can help me identify the books, I can probably order them via
some used book dealer on internet.

how do you study chess? by
snarkoutboy7@yahoo.com
greetings to all,
when you study chess, how do you study? do you play openings over and
over until you have them down? do you play games over and over? do
you look at patters? do you just play lots of games and learn what
works and what doesn't? do you pick one or two good openings for
white and black and focus?
i'd just like to hear what others are doing. i need focus, i don't

Oy, another slow grinder ... by
PeteCasso
.... that K won with white!
Either:
K is A's equal in slow grinders
K is in the form of his life (note that A is in splendid form as well!) or
there is indeed a K factor!

Strange newbie phenom by
Daniel
I have noticed that when I play a lot of
online games, or study a lot with PC chess
software in 2d, that I get a much different
perspective then when I use a real chess
set. I can take a position of a game and
load it into a 2d program, and see all sorts of
possibilities directions overall range of things.
If I take the exact
position and load it into a 3d program it seems
like a totally new...
